	How has the CPC changed my life? In order to tell you I have to go back 21 years. That’s when I met Jamie, my husband. I was 15. We had a baby when I was 16. We got married on my 17th birthday just after I graduated High School. At 19 I had my second baby. (Too bad we didn’t have the CPC then). 16 years later I took a home pregnancy test. It was positive, I was having a baby. Excited, I signed up for WIC right away. As I was fumbling through the stacks of papers I came across the CPC brochure. Earn While You Learn jumped out at me. I couldn’t believe it! I could actually earn things I needed for my baby by completing a weekly lesson. (It had been 16 years, yeah, I needed a lot!) I had to know more about the CPC! I made my appointment and was excited to see what it was all about. I wondered what more I could possibly learn about motherhood. After all, I was already a mom and worked at several Day Cares over the years. As each week passed, not only did I learn more and more, I also formed a close friendship with my counselor Laura. She does more than just lessons, she listens. I look forward to that hour every week. It’s my “me” time with a friend. Laura has inspired me in many ways and has deeply touched my heart. I know at the end of this 2 year program I will still be involved with the CPC. I just hope I can make a difference in someone’s life the way Laura and the CPC has made a difference in mine. ~Lisa "The people are so friendly and supportive and I learn so much from the curriculum.
